This is a moderately long read, if you want the TLDR, scroll to the end (it will be in red).

So… Why did I even make this site?

I started out doing a lot of work in the field of helping others. Some big, some small, but at the end of the day, it’s all in the pursuit of making someone’s day at least a little bit easier if I could.

Then college happened, and a lot went on (nothing bad—just plenty of work and experiences). Even though I recently graduated and I’m going back for my master’s in just two months from now, I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot—but not quite enough at the same time.

A friend of mine originally thought that it could’ve been Imposter Syndrome: “A behavioral health phenomenon described as self-doubt of intellect, skills, or accomplishments among high-achieving individuals”. While this is common, especially in higher education fields, only some aspects fit the bill when I did further research about it. It didn’t really resonate with me as much as I thought it would

After trying to find each and every explanation of what I might have, I found this Harvard article that talks about “Productivity Dysmorphia”, and after reading it, I learned two things.

  • 1: This absolutely sings to me in ways that I would’ve never guessed. With everything I do, nothing feels enough. I don’t celebrate my accomplishments no matter how grand, and I don’t give myself time to rest or reflect.

“With toxic productivity, you’re deriving less satisfaction from the work, which is a defining feature of burnout,” she says. “You’ve lost the joy of the work and the ability to engage in it in a way that seems satisfying.” (Salamon, 2024)

  • 2: I’m absolutely cooked lmao.

So to combat this struggle, and put my expertise to good use, I decided on making this website for everyone! I didn’t want to do one of those subscription based plans that you gotta pay “$x” every month to use, nor did I have a desire to create a product. We all have complications in our lives, so this is a little corner in the internet that you’re always free to visit.

Also, the main reason why this website has a lot of recipes is because I’m moderately good in the kitchen, I lift heavy weights and workout a lot and although I’m big (not saying actual weight, but +/- 270), and I just have a lot of things I want to share, I feel like that’s the best way I can provide comfort for yall. I wish I could do more, but that’s as much as I’m able to do at the moment.

“From The Couch”: Pretty much like a journal, diary, blog, my yapping session. I’ll be bringing things that I’ve experienced, or things that I’ve seen online, and just talking about them (sort of like that Disney show “Dog With A Blog”. Does anyone even remember that show? Hell, why do I remember that show…?).

“Crave-worthy Recs”: Sort of like my shoutout page. This can be anything I see that I think should get a little more attention to (games, music, TV, etc.).
