Trying out 100 Hobbies: #72, 5K “Running”

Let me be clear, in no universe did I “run” this 5k, and I genuinely had no realization I actually completed the 5k; I had just gotten bored and insomnia kicked in. At 5:00am, I decided to walk until I was satisfied, or passed out.

Food For Thought: I’m always a morning person, so I decided to walk until I could see the sunlight just across the horizon. It was such a nostalgic feeling, as the only times I watched the sunrise was from staying up all night when I was a kid, and then a thought passed my mind: some people would’ve done anything to see the sunrise just one last time, and especially with someone they hold dear, ya know?

I got my own experiences with things of this nature so I’ll keep it brief. In honor of national Suicide Prevention Month, here’s your homework:

If you know anyone who is feeling mild to severely depressed and/or suicidal, just talk to them. Talk to them; provide that warming sensation that there is someone in this world who’s willing to share their time with them. You can make it long, keep it short, whatever you feel is right. Just give them a little bit of your time cause you’ll never know what will happen the next second, ok?
